Big Picture Classes is holding a Big Idea Festival and you should all join
in. Every day you get an email with a link to that days instructor where they
share what their 'Big Idea' for the day is. There is a different instructor
everyday. Some are BPC regulars but there are some guest instructors as well.
There is a challenge for you to do which links into to the video message you receive.
The last 6 days I've been gasping onto my phone waiting for 8 am to hit and for
my phone to beep with the new challenge. Although I haven't had time to craft
this week I have managed to watch the video and have a think about what I can
do for the challenges.
I participated in the BPC last free event which was an epic 12 hour crop
which was amazing. I was ill at the time but it gave me focus and inspiration
and I was able to complete about half of the challenges in the given time. I
will blog about that experience at a later date. I have all my notes but due to
my arm being out of action the last few months I haven't yet got around to
typing it up, but watch this space. Anyway, back on track. I originally thought
that this would be like the crop, that you would get a scrapbooking challenge
may it be a techniques to use, a scrap lift to follow, a certain product to
incorporate on the page but this is a complete new set up. It is, as the title
states, a Big Idea festival. This so far has included, card making, picture taking
in itself without the need to scrapbook it and of course ideas of things and
themes to scrapbook. I have managed to complete 3 of the challenges today and I
have not used a single photograph. This was very surprising to me and not what
I was expecting as I had originally hoped it would give me a kick start back
into scrapbooking as I have been concentrating more on cards more recently.
Even so though I would not say that I was disappointed that I haven't used my
photos. As well as the fact that it has actually reduced the time to make the
challenges as I haven't pain staking taken hours poring over the right photo
and then re printed it multiple times to get the sizing right it has made me
think more. I have considered the topics put to me in depth and put more
thought into what it is I want to scrapbook. I won't spoil the surprise of what
the challenges are just yet. I will be posting them on here as I do them and
will let you know which days challenge they are in relation to.
Happy Crafting.
